THE CHALLENGE
Jules Monson, a Toronto/Mexico-based artist, aimed to create a unique and captivating installation for the Yorkville Murals Festival. The challenge was transforming her artistic vision into a series of rugs that would serve as art pieces and functional decor.
THE SOLUTION
Using Weaver & Loom's state-of-the-art platform, Jules brought her '🐍 Sssnakes' installation to life. The platform allowed her to design 18 unique rugs in three different color patterns and various sizes.
She started with initial sketches and uploaded them to our platform. Once the designs were finalized, they were sent to production. Weaver & Loom's commitment to craftsmanship and quality ensured that each rug was produced to the highest standards. The rugs were hand-knotted, with threads carefully dyed to Jules' unique colors. The production process was not just a manufacturing endeavour but an extension of the artistic process.
The project was completed in two months, from the initial design phase to production and shipping.
"The platform is incredibly easy to use. I cannot believe how fun it is to watch your drawings turn into rug renders. You can change the colors, add fringe, and change the pile heights. I'm obsessed with it."
THE RESULTS
The '🐍 Sssnakes' installation was a resounding success, drawing attention and praise from both the art community and the general public at Yorkville Murals. The rugs were accompanied by Jules’ art on the walls, making a beautiful and functional installation inside the Manulife Centre.
The success of this project has far-reaching implications for Jules and Weaver & Loom. It has opened doors for future collaborations with artists, designers, and architects, proving that our platform is a valuable tool for creative expression. It has also set a new standard for what can be achieved when art and craftsmanship come together, paving the way for more innovative and exciting projects in the future.
