THE CHALLENGE
Catriona Smart is an experience architect, entrepreneur, and Founder of That Good. She had been renovating her 1920s home with bespoke accents throughout. The challenge was to create two unique rugs to complement various design styles in her home.
THE SOLUTION
Starting with illustrations, Catriona had a clear vision for the rug style she wanted to create, from the colours to pile heights and construction. Focussing on design and functionality, we worked with Catriona to determine the best natural fibres for a home with pets and medium foot traffic.
The rug seen here was designed for her stunning living room, features three extreme pile heights and is made with pashmina and natural silk.
“It’s completely custom and is a piece of art to me. From the colours to the pile height to the deconstructed pineapple, we collaborated to create something so beautiful and memorable that it really brings the room to life.”
THE RESULTS
Through this project, Catroina designed something completely bespoke to enhance her home renovation, showcasing the versatility and quality that Weaver & Loom is known for. The success of this project brought the room to life, and has become a featured design element in her home. This project shows how, starting with a sketch and the Weaver & Loom platform, you can bring an idea to life that becomes a family heirloom.
